Superintendent's Corner: Mr Jeremy Tinsley

Dear VCS Families,

After almost three decades of exceptional service within the VCS community, our middle school principal, Mary DeBoer, will be retiring at the end of the current school year. Mrs. DeBoer started at VCS in 1993 and has served the Lord faithfully throughout her career. She has taught and provided leadership to VCS students, families, and staff with compassion, wisdom, a heartfelt desire to invite others into experiencing the love of Jesus and the wonderful plans He has for their lives. Mary's passion for middle school and the unique characteristics of middle school students will be a legacy that will continue to bless our community long after she retires!

Dear VCS Family,
When I started my teaching journey at VCS, I had no idea I would be privileged to
be a part of this wonderful community for 28 years. My husband, two children, and
I stepped out in faith and made the big move from Ontario to BC in June of 1993.
It has been an amazing journey and I can honestly say it has been an honour and
blessing to work with such an amazing, talented, and resilient staff and be blessed
to serve so many students and parents in my years at VCS. I will be forever
grateful for my time here and leaving this community will be bittersweet.
I do not know what the future holds, but God does and so I step forward in faith
believing He has something more for me as I shift into my retirement years. Please know that VCS will forever
be in my heart and my prayers and I look forward to completing this year with the best that I can give.
~ Mary DeBoer

The impact Mrs. DeBoer has had on the VCS community is difficult to quantify. What is clear is that her love for God’s children, VCS families, and our staff has had a profound impact on many people’s lives. Mrs.
DeBoer will continue to serve as Middle School Principal for the duration of the 2021-2022 school year; we will formally celebrate Mrs. DeBoer and the work God has done through her (and will continue to do, in other ways!) later in the spring.

God is good, all the time!

Sincerely,

Jeremy Tinsley
