High School

High school is more than preparation for university or a career; it’s a season of transformation. At Vancouver Christian School, students in Grades 8-12 are welcomed into a Christ-centred community where they are known, challenged, and supported.

At VCS, education is about growing as whole people intellectually, socially, physically, and spiritually, not only mastering subjects.

Every experience, from the classroom to the stage to the playing field, is an opportunity to encounter God, each other, and creation. In these encounters, students learn to be attentive to the Spirit’s leading, discovering their identity in Christ and what it means to serve with joy and compassion.

A Christ-Centred Learning Journey

Our high school years are shaped around a story of growth: coming to discover, telling our story, preparing and shaping, leading and serving, and leaving to discover. Each stage invites students to see their learning as part of God’s larger story.

Learning at VCS is designed to shape both mind and heart, rooted in Christian faith and a biblical worldview. Small classes allow teachers to walk closely with students, mentoring them and modeling what it means to follow Christ in daily life. Within a safe and welcoming community, every student is valued and is encouraged to grow. Our modern facilities provide spaces that foster collaboration, creativity, and inquiry, making learning both engaging and meaningful.

Opportunities to Encounter and Grow

The high school years at VCS are filled with opportunities that extend well beyond the classroom. PEAK Week and Encounter Days invite students to learn, serve, worship, and lead in new contexts. Leadership councils, worship teams, and service opportunities encourage students to put their gifts into practice for the good of the community.

Through apprenticeships, internships, and Capstone projects, students prepare for life beyond graduation with real-world experiences. Programs in the arts, athletics, and outdoor education nurture creativity, resilience, and teamwork. Students also have the chance to participate in globally recognized opportunities such as Advanced Placement (AP) courses and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, opening doors to future learning and leadership.

Graduates with Vision

We pray that our graduates leave VCS not only with knowledge, but with a deep sense of belonging to God’s story. Grounded in their identity in Christ, we seek to prepare graduates to step into university, the workplace, and the wider world, equipped to lead, serve, and make a difference wherever God calls them.
