Elementary School

At Vancouver Christian School, we believe every child is an image-bearer of God, uniquely gifted and deeply loved. In our Elementary program (Kindergarten–Grade 7), students learn and grow in community, forming strong academic foundations while being shaped spiritually, socially, emotionally, and physically.

Our mission is to nurture students in a Christ-centered environment where learning leads to transformation, service, and discipleship. Together with parents, we seek to raise young people who are curious learners, compassionate friends, and faithful followers of Jesus.

Why VCS Elementary?

  • Faith Formation: discipleship woven into every subject and relationship.

  • Whole-Child Education: nurturing academic, social-emotional, physical, and spiritual growth.

  • Committed Educators: teachers who see children as God’s image bearers and intentionally bring a Christian perspective into all areas of learning.

  • Community Partnership: parents and teachers working together to support each child’s flourishing.

Primary (K-Grade 3)

The Primary years are about discovery and belonging. Children develop essential skills in reading, writing, and numeracy, while also growing in character, creativity, and confidence. With teachers who know and love them, students are invited into a learning community that values curiosity, play, and exploration through the lens of God’s truth.

Intermediate (Grades 4-7)

The Intermediate years are a time of transition and growth as students take on greater independence and responsibility. They deepen their understanding of core subjects, explore their gifts, and develop leadership skills in community. Discipleship becomes more intentional – through class experiences, service opportunities, and Bible classes, students are invited to explore faith and life’s big questions in meaningful ways.

Shaping VCS Graduates

Our vision is that every VCS student grows into the VCS graduate profile – young people who are:

  • Truth seekers, critical thinkers, and globally aware
  • Culture changers, compassionate kingdom ambassadors, transformed inside and out
  • Life-long learners, academically equipped
  • Justice seekers, creation caretakers, and beauty creators
  • Service-minded, community cultivators, world healers

From Kindergarten through Grade 7, our Elementary program lays the foundation for this journey, equipping students to live faithfully and serve joyfully. Our deep hope is that every child is known, loved, and nurtured as an image-bearer of God.
