Admissions Process

How To Apply

We are pleased that you are considering Vancouver Christian School for your child’s education. The following phases outline our application process and how you can apply for your child for admissions at VCS.

Inquiry

Keen to join the VCS community?

Are you interested in, or are curious about, what it means to pursue an excellent, Christ-centred education for your child?

Indicate your interest by completing the Inquiry Form! This step is compulsory. Our admissions team will be in touch with you to guide you through the application process if there are vacancies for the grade level of interest.

  • Kindergarten Applications: Complete the inquiry form to get your personalized link starting October 8, 2025
  • Grades 1-7 Applications: Links will be sent starting January 30, 2026, only if space is available in your child’s grade
  • Grades 8-12 Applications: Links will be sent starting November 14, 2025, only if space is available in your child’s grade

Application

An application link will be sent to you when a vacancy for the Grade you are applying for is available. 

A $200 non-refundable online application fee per child will be collected as part of the application.

  • Kindergarten Application Deadline: October 24, 2025
  • Grades 1-7 Application Deadline: February 13, 2026
  • Grades 8-12 Application Deadline: December 12, 2025

Interview

Selected applicants will be invited to participate in two interviews. These include an in-person family conversation with a Principal, and a student-only screening session with one of our learning support teachers.

Application Results

Each application is carefully and prayerfully considered. We want each child who enters our school to thrive. Several factors influence our decision process to accept an applicant. This includes grade level capacity, and the availability of school resources to support the student well.

An admissions acceptance letter and an online registration package will be issued to successful applicants. In order to secure the applicant’s spot in VCS, the admissions office must receive:

  1. The completed registration package by the deadline indicated in the letter, and
  2. A $800 tuition deposit that will be applied towards the student’s tuition.

The applicant is officially registered following both of these steps!

Lead Up To The School Year

You will be informed of your tuition invoice payment options by the admissions team.

A welcome newsletter is mailed out by the end of August with information that will help you and your child(ren) prepare for life at VCS. We look forward to welcoming you to our community!

Join A School Tour

Sign up for a school tour if you would like to observe VCS in action! Please note that this is an optional step in the admissions process. A tour is helpful especially for those who may be very unfamiliar with the school, with Christian education, or for those who have specific questions that we can answer in a smaller group setting.

You can expect to gain a deeper understanding of what it means to receive a Christian education at VCS, the heart and intentionality behind the programmes offered, and the unique programmes that students can look forward to at different stages in their educational journey.

FAQ

Why do we invite applicants for a student-only screening session?

We are committed to meeting each student’s unique learning, social and developmental needs. This is why it is important for us to meet each prospective student to understand who they are and to assess if VCS is a good fit to help them thrive in their educational journeys. We do this through individual and group sessions, the latter particularly for Kindergarten applicants and some early primary grades.

Does VCS have before and after school care?

While VCS does not offer a before- and after-school care program directly, we are pleased to partner with Thrive Kids Club, which provides after-school care on our campus. You can learn more about their program here.

How can I get on a waitlist?

Please indicate your interest on the Inquiry Form.

When can I register my child for Kindergarten?

We accept Kindergarten applications the year before your child turns 5. Please refer to the Inquiry Form deadlines listed above.
