Homestay Opportunity for 2019/20: Parents of a Grade 10 student from Hong Kong are looking for a homestay arrangement with a current VCS high school family starting in August/September for their son who will be attending VCS. The Homestay family would provide a caring and supportive home where the student would have a private bedroom, would be encouraged to develop his English language skills, would experience Christian community and be immersed in Canadian culture. The parents in Hong Kong will maintain regular contact with their child and the homestay family to ensure he is adjusting well. Uniform/PHE Pop-Up Store will be held on May 8 from 3:00-5:00 pm in the lobby. A limited selection of  uniform and PHE wear pieces will be available. Please come and check out what we have. Cheque only please! See you there!

If you choose to get our order delivered to the school, please make sure your that your child’s name and grade are noted on your order before you pay to guarantee your child will receive it in their classroom.  Grade 4-7 Track and Field Practices Schedule. Students who have qualified to compete at Swangard need to attend at least one practice a week and are encouraged to attend more if they are able. Below are the practice days and times.

Tuesday after school 3:15 pm - running events (Mrs. Neufeld) & field events (Mrs. Drennan)

Thursday morning 8:00 am- field events (Mrs. Drennan)

Friday morning 8:00 am- running events (Mrs. Neufeld)

BMO Kids Run. We are excited that 47 students have joined the VCS team for the 2.5 km run at Stanley Park this Saturday! All students will receive their race package to take home with them this Friday. The race starts at 11:00 am but please arrive earlier. Track & Field/Cross-Country/Running Club T-shirts. Due to popular demand, we will be selling T-shirts again on Thursday, May 2nd and Friday, May 3rd from 3:00-3:30 pm in the lobby. Please bring $20 cash or cheque. Sizes are Youth XS-L and Adult S-XL.

Note from the Office.  If you are looking for your child’s PEN Number (Personal Education Number), you will be able to find it on your child’s report card.

Summer Camps: Thrive Kids Club is excited to announce its Summer Camps – “City-Scapes”. Our camps will include lots of opportunities for children to participate in gross motor activities and connect through various field trips around the greater Vancouver regional district. Our program will enable campers to form new friendships, grow in their faith, explore the city and have fun in a safe environment. Congratulations to Matthew, Charles and Judah, who as the Vancouver Christian School Piano Trio, placed first in the Kiwanis Music Festival for their performance of the Mozart trio in C major for violin, cello & piano.
