Middle School Matters

Our middle school students are very excited to launch their first annual Young Entrepreneurs Market on Tuesday, April 16th at 11:00 am. Young Entrepreneurs is an educational program that helps students develop an entrepreneurial mindset. They have fun gaining real-life career experience by exploring the world of business.

As they build their own independent business ventures, they set and achieve goals, acquire confidence and develop practical life skills. They will put their plans into action at the Market, where they interact with customers and earn money. They will donate all the profits to charity minus any loans they may have had to take out with their parents.

Over the next two weeks, the VCS community will notice posters going up around the school advertising a variety of products that will be available for purchase. You can start thinking about gifts you'd like to purchase for Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day or perhaps another special occasion which is coming up.

We are inviting classes as well as staff and parents to come and visit the Market on that day between 11 am and 4 pm. Students will have their products set up in various locations around the school including the middle school classrooms, lobby and rooftop terrace. All of the proceeds from the Market will go to the charity, Project Samuel, to help rebuild the roof on a school in Zambia as well as add new windows and update the building. This is an amazing opportunity for our students to learn some wonderful skills while also demonstrating Christ's love as compassionate kingdom ambassadors!
