Dear Inquiring Family,

Thank you for visiting our website to seek out information regarding VCS. We are an interdenominational independent Christian school that educates students from over 90 different churches in the Lower Mainland.

Our curriculum is taught from a Christian Worldview perspective and meets the requirements set by the BC Ministry of Education. Our teachers are all committed Christians and certified by the Ministry of Education.

We trust that the information on this site will answer many of the questions you might have about VCS as well as help you make an informed decision regarding the educational choice for your child.

When are applications accepted?

For Kindergarten families, we accept applications in October of the year in which your Kindergarten child is four. At our Open House, and after, we will be accepting applications from families with a Kindergarten student and his/her older siblings. For Grade 1 - 12 families, applications will be accepted mid-January.

What is the closing date for accepting applications?

We don't have a close date. We accept applications from October onward for the following September. We do not consider applications on a first-come-first-served basis but accept families through an interview process. Our Kindergarten interview times are from late November to January, with acceptance letters sent out in late January/early February. For Grades 1 - 12, interviews are held from February to May. Once our classes and wait pools are full, we will be closed to new applications.

What does the application process involve?

The process begins with a tour of our school at our Open House in October. Once we receive a completed application, you may be contacted for an interview with the school principal. If we have potential openings in certain grades, we may offer tours in the Spring.

What is Kindergarten Day?

If your family is accepted into our kindergarten program, you and your child will be invited to attend our Kindergarten Day in April. The purpose of this time is to give you important information about preparing your family for kindergarten, and it is also an opportunity for our teachers to meet their future students. The goal for this day is to help everyone--parents, students, and teachers--best prepare for an excellent start to school.

What is an assessment?

Students joining us in grade one or higher may be invited to an assessment session with our learning assistance team.  It takes about 30 minutes and covers spelling, math, reading, and reading comprehension. This assessment is not a test or an entrance exam; it is intended to give our staff a clearer picture of the learning your child has done up to this point.

What fees can I expect?

An non-refundable application fee of $200 per family ($400 for international students) is required with a submitted application. Upon acceptance, a $300 non-refundable deposit is required, which can be applied to the first month's tuition. Tuition fees are set in June for the upcoming school year.
